Nurbanu Ozbay is a TREND Scholar and research assistant on Dr. Lesia Ruglass (CCNY) and Dr. James Root (MSKCC) pilot research project which examines increased cue reactivity to smoking-related cues among Black Americans. As a TREND Scholar, Nurbanu receives mentorship from Dr. Christine Sheffer (CCNY) and Dr. Jamie Ostroff (MSKCC). Under their supervision, she is working on a systematic review manuscript on tobacco-related disparities. Nurbanu is an MA candidate in the General Psychology Program at City College New York and received her BA degree from Hacettepe University, Turkey. Her research interests include female psychology, trauma, tobacco disparities and culture.
