Efime Popovitz

Bio

Efime Popovitz is a fourth year student at the Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education. His calling to pursue medicine came at a young age after witnessing his father’s struggle with kidney disease. He hopes to one day use his personal experience to better the lives of critically ill patients. Efime’s interest in gaining an understanding of health disparities led him to become a research intern on the RITCH Study, where he worked on the recruitment and screening of prospective participants. He is also a TREND Partnership Scholar. In addition to medicine, Efime is passionate about public policy and believes that the medical community has an important role in influencing laws and policies that ultimately affect the well being of patients.
